Hôtel Racine Marrakech

That nightclub around the hotel corner is VERY noisy. Even from the 6th floor, it felt like I was down on the street with the people. I could hear every bit of conversation, and the music just wouldn’t stop. After a long day exploring, all I wanted was a warm shower and an early night, but I didn’t get a minute of sleep until the music finally ended. If you’re not an extremely heavy sleeper, you’ll have trouble here. Isn’t sleeping kind of the point of a hotel? At first everything looked good: the room was a very good size and the all-stone bathroom was nice. But the furniture was run down, and the cleaning wasn’t very thorough. The handles were very dirty, the bed frame and side tables were dusty, and the furniture was stained.

The front desk staff were warm, professional and attentive. The location was ideal, close to major attractions but still peaceful. After a day of exploring, the clean, comfortable rooms made for a relaxing place to return to. The buffet was varied and excellent, beautifully presented and kept very clean. Hotel Racine Marrakech offered a really good experience.

I asked by email for my family’s twin rooms to be next to each other. They replied that they’d try their best, but we ended up with two double rooms, one on the 2nd floor and the other on the 3rd. Nobody even let me know that our family would be split between floors. If I’d known they weren’t going to help with the room request, I wouldn’t have booked here. Hotels get great reviews when the service and communication are good. I’m sure they can learn from this poor service and communication and improve in future.

The security guard’s behavior was the most disturbing part of my stay. After five days as a paying guest, I was yelled at in Arabic in front of everyone, “HEY YOU!! WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU’RE GOING??!” and told to show my key card just for trying to go to my room. He treated me like an intruder and humiliated me. I was wearing jeans, sneakers and a parka, but I shouldn’t have to justify how I looked. It was clear to me that I was being profiled. The incident upset me deeply, and the guard never apologized for being aggressive. Staff were rude and unhelpful from the start, wouldn’t even acknowledge hello or goodbye. This wasn’t a language barrier: I’m Arab and spoke to them in Arabic, but they were cold and contemptuous. They also never replaced the shampoo or shower gel, even when the bottles were empty. I chose the hotel for the spa, but was told they couldn’t book waxing because they’d run out of wax. When I asked for a hammam, they said I had to book 48 hours ahead, a policy I couldn’t find on their site or in the hotel. A hotel spa should be convenient. With that much advance planning, I might as well go to a professional spa in town. Music from the surrounding nightclubs blasted until 3 AM, so sleeping was impossible. The hotel is also a 40-minute walk from the Medina. I didn’t know in advance that taxis in Marrakech were so unreliable, refusing to stop 8 times out of 10. Had I known I’d be stranded and walking 40 minutes every day just to see the city, I never would have booked so far away. This was humiliating. Between the empty bottles, the noise and the aggressive security, the hotel showed contempt for its guests and offered zero service. There are plenty of riads and hotels nearer the center where staff know what hospitality means. Avoid this place at all costs. To management: I’m using a different name on this Google account for privacy, but I was a paying guest for 7 days in December 2025, and I have my receipt and photos. Please don’t reply that you have no record of the booking or try to discredit my review. Train your security not to harass your clients.
