Kech Boutique Hotel

After a long day of travel, I ended up looking for another hotel late at night. I had checked in, walked into the room, and walked right back out within seconds because it was disgusting and clearly hadn't been cleaned. Used towels were left there, food was still on the counter, and the rubbish hadn't been cleared. At the front desk I asked for another room and was refused, despite having been told earlier that other rooms were available. The receptionist yelled, raised her voice, and slammed her hand on the counter instead of trying to sort it out. It felt intimidating, and other guests saw it. The next day the manager apologized and said a refund would be started, but nothing happened despite several follow ups. I finally disputed the charge with my bank and got my money back. Keeping my payment after offering me a room in that state and then having the receptionist yell at me and make me feel threatened is ridiculous. I was told Booking.com would look into the property further after concerns about my experience were raised. I travel often, and this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. It showed a serious lack of cleanliness, professionalism, and customer service. I'd strongly advise people to avoid this place.

The restaurant served good food for a good price, and the breakfast was good too. The pool was clean. They replied to all my messages before I arrived, and check-in with EL BACHIR and SOUKAINA AIT LAHCEN was the best. During the stay they helped me figure out where to go and where to eat. I especially want to mention how friendly SOUKAINA AIT LAHCEN was, and EL BACHIR most of all. He was the best person I have met. The best hotel I've ever stayed in.

Breakfast had plenty of fresh, tasty choices, and the room and shared spaces were clean and well cared for. The staff were kind, professional, and quick to help. We had a wonderful stay and would gladly recommend the hotel.

The two security staff at the main doors were the only people who came across as genuinely cordial. Laila and her colleague at the live counter barely reacted or responded, and the rest of the staff seemed to treat hospitality as optional. Maybe it was a language issue, but the service was unlike anything we’d experienced. It was also one of our family member’s birthdays during the stay. We asked about arranging a cake and got a baffled look, with no initiative from the hotel. Traveling with family, I wouldn’t recommend it, since our requests weren’t dealt with. We’d booked three nights with breakfast, but the spread never changed from one morning to the next. The barley soup, grilled tomatoes, homemade curd, and everything else stayed exactly the same. Room service was just as disappointing: we got one small bottle of water on the first day and were told only the first night’s water was complimentary. We were given two coffee sachets and told those were the only complimentary ones when we asked for more. We’d expected a lot from the Kech Hotel because of its 4+ ratings online. Maybe those guests only stayed one night. For us, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had.
