We spent three of our eight trip nights at La Palais Averroes. If we’d known how much we’d like it, we’d have stayed for the whole trip. It’s a peaceful oasis away from the Medina’s hustle and bustle. The place is beautiful and clean, with rooms tidied daily. Breakfast was accommodating for vegetarians and vegans 🌱. The staff were attentive, friendly, and took great care of us from arrival until we left. Special thanks to Yassine and Sana for making us feel comfortable, cared for, and at home. Thank you for making our Marrakech experience unforgettable ✨

The pool area looked peaceful, though we couldn’t use it in winter. We did enjoy the spa: the Hammam had a hot steam room, and they turned it up when it felt a little cool, followed by a clay wrap and scrub. It was lovely to come back to this small, quiet hotel after the bustle of Marrakesh. The rooms were clean, though we mostly lived out of our suitcases because there wasn’t much space for clothes. Fine for a stay, just not luxurious. Senae was lovely, and Hamza looked after us well. Mustafa was there if anything went wrong. We had a couple of small niggles, but everyone was so nice that it was hard to complain. Things move at a relaxed pace, so it helps to be laid back on holiday. We even taught them how to make English tea, you’re welcome 😂 A taxi to the city took 20-25 minutes depending on traffic. I recommend using the Indrive app. If you treat things as part of the experience, you’ll have a wonderful time. We had a great stay, and they’re happy to work with you if something isn’t quite right.

We were upgraded to a Royal Suite, which was spacious, elegant, and incredibly comfortable. From the minute we arrived, the care and kindness were obvious. The staff were professional, kind, and attentive throughout. A special thank you to Sanaa, who was welcoming, always available, and made our stay even more special.

The rooms were clean and nice, but all the pillows had the same firmness. The hotel itself is beautifully built and full of character. Breakfast was the same each day, nothing spectacular but not bad, and the chef was willing to make dinner. Somehow, though, it didn’t feel inviting, so we ate out every evening. Bladna, the only nearby restaurant within walking distance, had okay food. The location is about 15 minutes from the city center. A local taxi costs up to 70 dirham, while the hotel can arrange one for 150, more than double. Uber isn’t available, but you can try Careem. The chef and receptionist, who may be the deputy manager, were good, professional, and service minded. The manager, on the other hand, seemed more interested in acting popular. He spent a long time on his phone while guests relaxed by the pool, chewed gum while making coffee, and arrived at 9.00 to organize breakfast, an hour after it was supposed to be available. He somehow has the job but doesn’t seem to know how to do it. There wasn’t really a barista either, so coffee with milk was just coffee with hot milk. I’d advise the owners to keep a closer eye on the processes and read the reviews, so the service can improve and match the 5-star image shown, for example, on booking.com. As it stands, I’d rate it 3 stars, even though the place looks very pretty.

We felt relaxed and at home at this beautiful riad hotel, tucked away in a very quiet spot just outside Marakkesh. The massages were divine. A great place for travellers looking for a bit of rest amid the Marrakesh chaos.
