Adil was friendly when we met, and took time to show me how the TV and Wi-Fi worked and explain the neighborhood. The airport shuttle was €15, and the driver was waiting when I arrived. The apartment is central, with a pharmacy, a 24/7 convenience store, snack bar, bistro, cafés, medical centre, restaurants and shops nearby. I had privacy from overlooking neighbours inside, and liked the little terrace. There’s a coffee maker, washing machine, large fridge and freezer, oven and stove. A microwave would be useful for heating food, which is easy to get nearby. Wi-Fi was decent. The TV had loads of channels, though many glitched. The construction noise was the worst part of my vacation. The building next door had jackhammers and rubble being hauled away from around 8:50 am until 5 pm. It was unbearable, even during the day, and the windows aren’t double glazed, so they did nothing to muffle it. I’ve stayed in other cities where construction was happening, and it wasn’t even a tenth as loud. The apartment is in the heart of the city, so it also wasn’t as quiet as some reviews suggested. The apartment needs a few small touch-ups. The bathroom has no window and felt gloomy and very dark. The layout leaves both the hallway and bedroom a bit dark. The balcony light and extractor fan light weren’t working, the living room light could be brighter, and the bulbs were too bright. Soundproofing isn’t great either, as I could hear what was happening above and in the hallway. The pool was much less appealing in person than in the photos. The terrace wasn’t furnished as well as pictured: there was no sofa, just lounge chairs. The owners were understanding, but communication was inconsistent, and I got the impression they weren’t especially interested in helping. They did agree to refund one night to make up for the noise.

The online photo of the facade showed a different building. What’s offered is essentially a studio, with one bedroom and a combined living room and kitchen. I was charged the same fee twice for the first hour, which I’d already paid when booking. The air conditioners were broken and blew no cold air, and the towels and tablecloths were old. The place was completely unclean, with dust everywhere, especially above the beds. The pool on the fifth floor is small, about one metre deep, and shared by the whole four-storey building. There are multiple studios on each floor, with a maximum of six people using it. Your choice.

Such a beautiful resort for a holiday.
