Palais Sebban

We even got to cool off in the pool in February when the sun came out. The evening with dinner, music, and a belly dancer was lovely too. Everywhere you look, there are beautiful details, and the room felt like a palace. The rooftop has gorgeous views of Koutoubia mosque, and breakfast was tasty. The staff were wonderful and the whole riad felt so welcoming. Amazing stay!

Our Prestige room was the disappointing part. It was tucked behind the restaurant, so we had to keep the curtains shut while the restaurant was open, and the lighting was poor. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom amenities were good, and reception staff were excellent whenever we needed help. Other staff were less attentive unless we got their attention ourselves. The rooftop terraces were especially lovely, with views across the city and towards the mountains. The public spaces are beautifully designed, and the cosy bar with its open fire was much appreciated in January. The hotel is well placed for the main central sights. Breakfast was an average buffet. The coffee came from an urn rather than being freshly made, and across all three mornings, some items were missing or arrived very late. Egg options were never offered.

After our first full day exploring the city, we came back and found money missing from our luggage. There was no safe in the room. It was a disappointing lesson to learn. Before that, management had quickly sorted out the three-night reservation that booking.com cancelled, and the location had a lot going for it: nearby parking, historic landmarks within a short walk, and a sense of safety while exploring the medina. The riad is stunning, with beautiful rooms and lots of rooftops to discover. Its breakfast was the best spread we had during all ten days of travel in the country, with plenty of delicious choices.

Our room let the place down a bit. It was small, the old AC was loud, and the shower head didn't spray well or stay in a useful position. The bathroom door looks lovely, but it's see-through, so sounds and smells carry through it. Still, this was the best Riad we stayed at in Morocco. There are three small, beautiful pools, plenty of places to lounge, and a restaurant with fantastic food. The terraces are great for sun, a drink, or a book, and there's a strong alcohol selection. Breakfast was the best we had in the country. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the bed, bedding, and towels were fantastic. The location is very convenient too.
