We made good use of the shuttle into Marrakech every day. It worked well, though there are long gaps in the afternoon, and at busy times demand could outstrip the number of seats. The resort is about a 10-minute bus ride from the city centre, in a peaceful setting that never felt crowded or noisy. We were there in February and had been told occupancy was 80%. We stayed 6 nights at Adama Resort, and my partner and I came home amazed by the country, its people, and culture. The accommodation is in spacious apartments rather than hotel rooms. Ours had a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, lounge, dining area, and outdoor space. There are two pools, a larger one and a smaller children's pool, with plenty of sunbeds, plus a separate outdoor lounging area around a large pond. The hotel has an indoor bar and restaurant area and outdoor dining. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at generous times, with plenty of choice for everyone. The waiting staff were outstanding. The service was exceptional, and we always felt welcome. They greeted us with a smile, got to know us, chatted about our plans, and offered advice. They checked whether we planned to dine in and always had a table ready. Khalid welcomed us on our first day and was a complete gentleman, always looking after our needs. Abdel gave us useful information and great advice for our day trips. Faisal worked tirelessly during busy periods and was so kind. Mounir makes the best cocktails if you like a Mojito. Thanks to all the fabulous staff! On our first day, our rep arranged a guided tour of the Atlas Mountains, which is a must when visiting Marrakesh. The scenery and views were stunning, and we saw how the Berbers live. We stopped at a traditional Berber family, an Argan shop, and a pottery shop. We were always welcomed with mint tea, learned about their way of life, and nothing was too much trouble. We were less intimidated by the souk in the daytime than we'd expected. There were stalls full of things like leather, wicker, spices, and oils. In the evening the square was a different matter, turning into a crazy, bustling crowd. We tried the street food and weren't disappointed. We also used the reasonably priced 48hr hop on hop off bus to see the city outskirts, stopping at the Marjorelle Gardens and Bahia Palace. The entry fees were reasonable, and both were worth visiting.
