Ahmed and Abdula were lovely hosts, and we enjoyed the delicious breakfast. The rooftop terrace was amazing for watching the sunrise each morning. I’d happily stay again.

A little piece of paradise in the Marrakech medina, full of charm and quality, with top service. I wish I could have stayed longer. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the Red City.

I was in the Carbon room, and from the first night the whole room smelled of sewage. I told Ahmed the manager the next morning, and he immediately spoke to the cleaner, but the smell stayed for our entire visit. This was a structural issue, not something that could be fixed by pouring air freshener down the drain. They didn’t offer to move us or do anything else about it. On our last night, we got back to the room late, around 9:30 pm, and I saw that the lock on my suitcase had been broken. When I opened it, my clothes were scattered around, and unfortunately 650 USD was missing. I went straight downstairs to tell Abdul. The friendly faces and cordial manner disappeared right away. I asked him to tell Ahmed and also messaged Ahmed myself, but he never replied or came to speak with me. I had to leave early the next morning for my scheduled transfer to Essaouira, and left with a promise that they would find a solution. That never happened. They refused to take responsibility and told me my daughter had taken the money to buy an iPhone. Ridiculous! After my stay in Essaouira, I went to the police to file a report so this wouldn’t happen again. I should also mention the riad is in an area that didn’t feel very safe. One day we took a wrong turn and came across drug dealers who told us we had no business there and should turn back. Another night a group of young men tried to rob us. They first claim the street you want is closed and try to send you where they want you to go. If you fall for it, you’re in their hands. The Carbon room was so noisy that it was very hard to sleep.

Eric was extremely friendly and helpful, and the service throughout our stay was exceptional. We had an amazing time at this riad. The room was beautiful, with a mix of modern and traditional style, and breakfast was delicious. We also had a really nice hammam experience. I’d definitely recommend staying here in Marrakesh.
