We had a prepaid reservation, but when we arrived late in the evening, we were told there was no room for us. Nobody explained or apologized, and the staff made no effort to help. We were left in the Medina of Marrakech with children, trying to find somewhere else to sleep. At night, that felt very stressful and unsafe. We only learned later that the property had overbooked. We were left to deal with the consequences ourselves. This was one of my worst accommodation experiences. If reliability and basic respect matter to you, book somewhere else.

They gave us fewer beds than we had booked, then ignored our request for a refund when we raised it in person. Two days later, when we contacted them through booking, they said it was too late and there was no Proof we'd spoken to the worker in time or that we had the right room. They blamed us for their mistake. Customer service: -100/10.

The staff made us feel cared for from the moment we arrived. Everyone was kind and attentive, and our requests were met with a smile. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace, with fresh local ingredients and lovely views, was a great start to the day. Riad Abaka feels tucked away enough to be peaceful while still being just steps from the busy Medina. The Moroccan interiors are full of detail, from the tiles and lanterns to the traditional textiles. Our room was spotless, quiet, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. We also loved relaxing by the pool in the calm inner courtyard after exploring the souks. A beautiful, welcoming stay, and we'd definitely come back.

We really liked this riad. Chahrazd, who works at breakfast, is so fun and nice. Thanks, we'll come back if we're ever in Marrakesh again!
