Riad Alwane

We were told parking was available, but it was a five minute walk from the riad, and getting to it was awful. I'm Moroccan, and I didn't feel safe in that neighborhood. Beggars bombarded us on the way there and back to the car. The rooms were small and unimpressive. We chose not to stay because we felt unsafe and worried something might happen to our car, but the riad never answered our messages, and we got no refund or anything. The owner only speaks French, which made it hard to communicate. 0/10, would NOT recommend.

A very good place to stay in Marrakech, and a unique experience in a local location.

Aitali Noureddine really made our holiday more comfortable and went above and beyond, including making us a takeaway breakfast when we had an early trip. He also arranged our taxi rides to and from the medina and back to the airport. He shared helpful advice about Morocco, places to visit, and things to look out for. Each morning he served us pancakes, pastries, eggs, and fruit for a yummy traditional Moroccan breakfast. We never went hungry. We also loved being greeted by Aitali, who enjoyed hearing about our adventures. Each room has its own key, but there’s no key for the main door when you go out. I liked not having to worry about losing one or carrying it around all day. The rooftop is sunny and lovely for lying out, and there’s a downstairs pool that was too cool for us to use but looked nice. Breakfast in the sun was a treat. For what we paid, it felt worth it, and Riad alwane will always have a special place in my heart. It was my first time in Morocco, staying in this beautiful boutique riad. Finding the place was hard at first, though our taxi driver got us to the right alley. Google Maps didn’t work well, so maybe ask the driver or contact the riad. The streets felt generally safe, and it was a 15-20 minute walk to the souks, and 20 minutes to Ben youseff and atay cafe. When we arrived, we had trouble getting in touch with Patrick, who wasn’t much help locating the riad, but once we got there, we were greeted and treated so kindly by Aitali. I highly recommend riad alwane for the service, reasonable location, and a great stay. Thank you for giving us the best time in Morocco 🇲🇦 Choukran

Being looked after by Aitali made the trip special. He was local, gave us great service from the start, made sure we had breakfast every day, and packed some for our early trip. He also shared advice on where to go and connected us with a reliable taxi service. The taxi dropped us just around the corner for 50 MAD, so we didn’t feel too far from attractions or places outside the Medina, even later in the evening. The rooms were cleaned daily, and the riad was excellent value. We’ll miss staying here and remember the fresh Moroccan bread from nearby streets early in the morning. We hope to visit Marrakesh again. We’d arranged a taxi through the riad online, and it dropped us nearby. The area might feel unsettling at first, but we found it perfectly safe. I’ve been in parts of London and the U.K. that felt far worse. Be ready to get lost a few times: Google Maps helped, while Apple Maps alone would have got us lost. It’s an excellent place to stay if you want an authentic Marrakesh experience.
