Riad Dar Bahi

Our reservation at Dar Bahi was cancelled just a week before we were due to arrive, even though we'd booked months earlier. We were told the card hadn't gone through, so we immediately made a new booking at a higher, non-refundable price to avoid losing the stay. Soon afterward, another message said the riad would be closed from December 30 to January 5. There was no apology, and it seemed they'd simply failed to close those dates on their calendar. When we explained that no one had told us about the closure and that the mistake was theirs, the reply was rude and unprofessional. Eventually they told us not to contact them again. The whole experience was deeply disappointing and showed very poor management, communication, and accountability. Guests deserve respect when a business makes a mistake. We can't recommend this place. Marrakech has plenty of well-run, authentic riads, often locally owned or professionally managed, where guests are treated with care. I'd book somewhere else.

The location in the Medina was a highlight, with restaurants and shopping all around. I had a wonderful six-day stay at Riad Dar Bahi, from beginning to end. All seven rooms are beautifully appointed, and the meals were beyond excellent, especially dinner. Every member of the team, from the site manager to housekeeping and maintenance, was friendly, courteous, and ready to help. I'm from the U.S., and I'd absolutely come back.

Breakfast was plentiful, with a breathtaking view, and the riad itself was spotless and beautifully put together. We've traveled widely, but haven't encountered service this exceptional before. Hamsa deserves special thanks for going out of their way to meet our wishes and make us comfortable. The stay exceeded our expectations, and we'd wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone hoping for a memorable visit.

The water pressure in the shower and sink was hot and powerful, a really pleasant bonus. We also found the location ideal: just off the main Souks, quiet, private, and safe, with a taxi station nearby and an easy walk to the main souks. We loved the Riad Dar Bahi. The design details stood out throughout the modern riad, from the rooms to the terrace and atrium. Hamza, our warm and humble host, made sure everything went smoothly. He arranged breakfast for exactly the time we asked each morning, and was happy to help with anything. He also speaks very good English. I've never had this level of hospitality before. The other staff were superb too, including the ladies who handled cleaning and cooking, and Monseiur Fred, who also looked after us. We arrived at 11pm and were glad we'd asked the Riad to arrange an airport driver. It cost a little extra, but was money well spent. The Medina's alleys are a maze, and the driver contacted Hamza, who came to meet us and guide us to the riad. We also recommend asking Hamza or Fred to arrange a guide. We took a walking tour of key Medina sights and some souks we hadn't found on our own, skipping anything that felt unnecessary. It was nice to follow the guide instead of figuring out directions with a map app. We booked because of the lovely photos and reviews, and weren't disappointed. Thank you, Hamza, Fred & the lady’s. We're grateful we could stay here and would gladly recommend Riad Dar Bahi to friends, family, and acquaintances.
