The rooftop was a real highlight, with birds in the morning, sunshine, city rooftops, and a view of the Atlas Mountains, the highest mountains in North Africa. With just a handful of rooms, the place feels like a lovely secret, and the included Moroccan breakfast was delicious. Getting there felt like stepping back in time. Our driver made his way through winding roads and very narrow concrete arches before we reached a small parking area. A porter from the riad met us there and led us on foot through dim alleys and tunnels. After a couple of minutes, we arrived at a solid black steel door. Once it opened, the city seemed to disappear. Riad Dar Thalge inside was calm, cool, and beautiful. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and Mary and Franck were especially helpful as we found our way around.

The rooms were fresh and very clean, and the housemaids were genuinely kind and helpful. The owners are a lovely, inspiring couple, and we had a great time with them. They can also serve meals on request, and it felt like eating something a Moroccan mother had cooked 🌱🌟. We really recommend this riad and would happily return on our next visit to Marrakesh.

The area outside the Medina is loud, busy, and not especially clean, but as soon as you step inside the riad it's warm and peaceful. The owner welcomed us so nicely, and we got along really well with the actor-student who was looking after the place over the weekend. The breakfast was amazing and everyone made it feel friendly. The location is great, though the value felt just about right for the price.

Mourad gave us a whole day seeing the Medina and Old Marrakech through local eyes, including little workshops and industries making goods for the Souks. We learned so much, and he also arranged everything we needed during our stay. We had a Moroccan cooking lesson in the riad with Nezah, then prepared our meal for that evening, another great experience. The location of Le Riad Dar Thalge is fantastic, right by the Medina and Old Marrakech, and the accommodation spans three levels. Mourad, Yassin, Nezah, and all the staff were wonderful. We'd thoroughly recommend the place and its team for a memorable stay. If six stars were possible, they'd deserve them.

Breakfast was served whenever suited us between 8 and 12, and we really enjoyed it. There was bread, Moroccan crumpets, butter, strawberry and apricot jam, honey, Moroccan tea, coffee, milk, and freshly squeezed orange juice. Our bed was comfortable, and the room stayed cool and dark in the morning, so sleeping in was easy. The staff were great about making sure we could find our way home, guiding us out and pointing out the route. The riad is around 10 minutes from the main old square. Inside, the open central courtyard is bright and lovely, with a beautiful dip pool. Internet worked well in the central area but didn't quite reach our room. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
