Riad Des Droles

The house is large, nicely decorated and has a rooftop terrace. The location is decent, and the housekeeper was friendly, though she doesn't speak English. Wi-Fi was poor to nonexistent, and only two of the four rooms had A/C. During our August visit, the rooms were hard to cool in the daytime because it was so hot outside. One bathroom shower also had drainage problems. We came by car and had to use public parking. There’s one fairly close to the house, and it cost 70 MAD per day.

The housekeeper was very cordial and always ready to help, so we never felt ignored. Breakfast, included and prepared by her, was light, well made and filling. The rooms were comfortable and clean, though the bathroom could use a little improvement. There is air conditioning, and although it failed at one point, we could always get it running again. It's tricky to find the Riad at first, but after the second night we knew our way back and forth. The alley is safe, a bit noisy and perhaps not very clean. Once you open the door and go inside, though, all that stays behind. It's a good, inexpensive place for several days. We highly recommend it and would stay again.

Having the house to ourselves in the evenings made it a lovely quiet retreat from all the nearby bustle. It’s also just a short walk to the square and plenty of attractions. The house is beautiful, and the housekeeper was very friendly. We were really happy with our choice.
