Riad Habib

This place is in the heart of Madina, the main tourist area known for shopping, right beside the wall of the secret garden. Cars aren't allowed in this zone, and it stayed calm throughout the day. I felt safe there, and security is available. The staff were kind and cooperative, ready to help around the clock, including coming to meet you on the main street if you have trouble finding the way. Management treated guests like family. I'd definitely stay here again on another visit to Morocco.

I wouldn't choose this place again. The rooms look nice at first, but need a much better clean and smelled bad; there was even bird droppings on the breakfast table. Breakfast was included, but it was just four pancakes, two buns, and jam, so I wouldn't recommend it. The location is close to attractions, but it's on a very busy stretch and takes a three-minute walk between buildings from the main market road, which didn't feel safe. Next time I'd pick the New Medina area, which seems cleaner and safer. The owner would only take location money in euros. When I said we didn't have euros, she accepted dirhams but used a very poor exchange rate, 1:8 at the riad compared with 1:10 at the exchange shop. In my opinion, it's not worth staying here.

Jamal and his team made everything easy, from the 2am airport transfer to breakfast at 6am. The riad was exactly what we wanted: quaint, authentic, and good value. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. I'd definitely recommend staying here and would come back.

The rooms were lovely and authentic, the beds comfortable, and everything very clean. Breakfast on the roof terrace was amazing, with a great view over Marakesh and the Atlas mountain's. It's near the main streets and the secret garden. The only small drawback was the walk to reach the riad.
