Good value for the price, and conveniently located near the central medina. Cambio is less than 500 feet away.

The location is hard to beat, just around the corner from Jemaa el-Fna market in the medina. We arrived late but could still check in around 11pm. The room had the basics and a private bathroom, though not much else. Breakfast was included, tasted good, and was handy before heading out to explore the city. There’s also a rickety staircase up to a little tower with a nice view of the area. You get what you pay for.

I only stayed one night before continuing on to Essaouira, and felt comfortable here as a solo female traveler, even coming and going at night. The riad is close to Jemâa al-Fna, reached through one of the main souks. Breakfast on the terrace was very nice, with city views and traditional Moroccan food like crepes, breads, honey, and cakes. The staff were friendly and the guesthouse had an authentic Moroccan charm. The rooms are basic but clean and have what you need. Wi-Fi worked well, though only in the public areas, which I actually enjoyed because it got me out of my room.

The roof terrace was nice and breakfast was good, but we didn’t get the room we had booked and paid for. Our room had fewer beds and was poorly equipped. One bed smelled of urine, and there were biting insects in the other bed, possibly bed bugs. The air conditioning didn’t work, so it was extremely hot and stuffy at night.
