Riad Jennah Rouge - Hostel

The location worked really well, right by an entrance to the Medina and an easy walk from the main square. The alleys felt unfamiliar at first, but we found the area safe and easy to get around. The Riad has colorful traditional mosaics that feel straight out of Marrakech, almost like 1001 Nights, and there are several room options, from dorms and doubles to very budget-friendly rooftop sleeping spots. It's simple and practical, with good value for money. Breakfast was traditional and enough for us, with tea or coffee to choose from. The team made us feel at home. Hamza was especially kind, friendly, and helpful, and always happy to stop for a chat. The lady who helps with breakfast and the rooms, along with the rest of the team, was just as warm. It's a clean, comfortable hostel with nice beds, right in the center. Nothing fancy, but Hamza was really welcoming and kind.

It's a clean place, with a great breakfast and a lovely view over the medina from the terrace. As is often the case in Marrakech, it took a bit of effort to find the hostel, but once through the door it felt like stepping into another world. The welcome from the staff was great. I traveled alone as a woman and felt safe there.

I recommend booking a different hostel. In the six-person dorm, every little movement made the awful beds creak, and the pillows were rock hard. The blankets smelled so bad we couldn't use them, so we barely slept. I never saw a lock on the front door or the room doors, and anyone could come in at any time.
