Riad l'Emir

The riad felt quiet, both outside and inside, and had a pleasant design with thoughtful decor. Our room was large and had that riad atmosphere you can really feel. The location was excellent, close to the city center and easy to reach on foot. Breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Zakaria for his exceptional service and help.

The cook was the one bright spot: she made delicious breakfasts and was always kind and attentive. The manager was polite too, but he needed to step in properly to salvage our stay. We came to this Riad for a restful five-night vacation and left more tired than when we arrived. I had clearly asked for an upstairs room, but we got one on the ground floor. It was extremely damp, even the sheets felt wet. After the first night, a cockroach came out of the headboard, and another appeared two days later. Every morning at 6 AM, the night guard's alarm woke us up. He let it ring three or four times each morning. We raised it with the manager several times. He spoke to the guard repeatedly, but nothing changed. The guard slept on a sofa right outside our door, so the alarm sounded as if it were in our room. The old windows and doors offered no sound insulation or privacy. We could hear new guests arriving, buzzing the entrance, and talking loudly in the echoing hallway at 2 AM. We asked to move rooms and were refused. We also asked multiple times for something to be done about the alarm, but it continued every morning. No compensation was offered for any of it. On top of that, they insisted we pay the city tax in cash, even though we'd run out and they wouldn't take a card. I can't recommend this place.

The staff were extremely helpful, and the riad's interior and location were great. Everything felt calm and beautiful. Amazing experience!
