That third-floor rooftop terrace was a welcome place to get away for a bit, and the bathroom was another highlight: roomy, elegant, with a walk-in shower and pearly tiles. Our second-floor room was spacious and had two beds with the usual firm Moroccan mattresses. Its tiny window looked onto the courtyard, which sounds charming but meant there was no privacy. Breakfast indoors felt cramped, and the small pool in the pretty entrance hall seemed more for show than for enjoying. Getting there with heavy bags takes effort. The riad sits down a narrow pedestrian alley, there’s no lift, and the stairs will put your calves to work. The staff were kind and keen to help, though not always coordinated. We were a large group arriving late, and the three young men on duty seemed flustered for quite a while afterward. The location is handy for the main square and the Koutoubia, as long as your legs are up to it.

Riad La Croix Berbere DE LUXE is a lovely quiet hideaway, even with its very convenient location. Mr Hamza and his team were so kind and helped make our time in Marrakesh feel special. I’d absolutely recommend it.

The walls are thin, so you’ll definitely hear other guests. It might not suit a long stay, but it worked great for us. The location was good, with only short walks to medina, and our room was clean and well lit. Ayyub and Yusuf were so kind and hospitable that I had to write a review to thank them.
