Riad les Rêves d'Amélie

The ladies working at Rêves d’Amélie Riad were lovely, kind, and attentive. They didn’t speak much English, but we communicated easily and felt very welcome. The staff made check-in smooth and check-out even easier. They let us leave our bags until the evening for our 9:30 pm flight, lent us towels for a pool day we’d booked, and gave us an extra set of keys so we could collect our luggage before the airport. We stayed four nights, and it was a pretty chill, pleasant visit. The rooftop breakfast was simple, nothing fancy, but nice and enough to start the day. And yes, there’s a lot of bread in Morocco. The riad is clean and peaceful, in a nice area with a few restaurants and city sights nearby, right in front of the famous Saadian Tumbs. Most tours have a pickup point a two-minute walk from the riad’s door. The rooms aren’t very large. One thing to know is that the bathroom walls don’t go all the way from floor to ceiling, so it can feel awkward if you’re shy. You can literally hear the other person breathing while they’re on the toilet. The rooftop area is also quite small. Sitting down, you only see the sky, and you have to stand and look over the wall to get a view. The sofas could use an upgrade too, since they’re hard and uncomfortable for relaxing for long. It’s a good place for a short stay if you’re after somewhere clean and peaceful with kind people, but don’t expect luxury or big open views.
