Riad Monika

Once we reached the riad, everything felt good. The staff were lovely and took great care of us, and breakfast on the roof was great. The place itself was quiet, with a pool in the usual central courtyard. Our room’s color made it feel a bit scary to me, and it was dark during the day unless we turned on the lights, but that was a minor issue. Getting there takes an eight-minute walk from where cars have to drop you, since they can’t fit down the dusty, unpaved road. Watch out for fast motorbikes and keep right. The street and people in doorways can look dodgy, but that impression isn’t true. Our breakfast server, who made me think of Agadir in The Birdcage, brought us breakfast each day. I kept expecting him to trip over his own feet. Well worth staying a couple of days, and go wild in the madness of Marrikesh.

Zouhair made us feel at home throughout our weekend. The Riad is beautiful and peaceful, with great food and a perfect central location. I’d recommend it to anyone.

I was lucky to be invited by friends who were staying for a week. I was impressed by the dinner and how kind the service was. Even the walk through the courtyards up to the rooftop terrace shows how well the owners look after the place.

The Riad is calm and beautiful, and the service was awesome. It felt more modern than some of the other riads we stayed in, but the service was easily the nicest, and the staff showed us the most care in Marrakesh.
