Riad Rose Meryam

I stayed here twice and would choose it again. The rooms have a 1920s feel, and though they could use a bit of TLC, there's very little to complain about. The riad is a peaceful little haven down a small alley, about 20 minutes on foot from the heart of Marrakesh. It looks after you well, with exceptional breakfasts and dinner available if you ask. The cook and other staff are very helpful and make everything easy. I loved sitting on the roof terrace, watching the stars and hearing the children playing in the alley below.

I had a delicious chicken tagine dinner after a long day of travel and a delayed flight. The hosts gave me a warm welcome, and the room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. I slept well, though it can get a bit loud at times. A friendly place and good value for money. I was happy with my stay.

This was my favourite of the hotels and riads I've stayed in while in Marrakech. It was clean, tidy and nicely decorated, with good quality furnishings. The location was convenient without being in a spot with heavy foot traffic, and there was a guard regularly present on the street leading to the riad to look after vehicle safety. It's on the pricey side compared with other places around the city, but worth it. I'd stay again. Breakfast was nicely cooked and brought just outside our room. The staff were helpful with questions; when they couldn't answer, they called the manager, who talked with us over the phone and helped us out. If you get a little lost, look for the black door in the alley on the right when the hospital is in front of you and the mosque is on your right, past the alley.

A charming riad within walking distance of Jemaa El Fna. The rooms were clean and tidied every day, and the staff were superb. We liked having two free bottles of water each day, and the little rooftop was cosy. Breakfast didn't have much variety and was too sweet for our taste, though I guess that's just breakfast in Morocco.
