Riad Sable Chaud

Momo, the Riad Manager, met us when we got off the shuttle and helped us get to the Riad. Our short stay at Riad Sable Chaud was fantastic. Zaida, Fatima, Mustafa and the rest of the staff worked hard throughout the day and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. They even let “bouncy cat” join us for breakfast. Thanks for making our time in Marrakesh so enjoyable.

Fatima was the highlight for us. She was so warm and friendly, and made sure we enjoyed breakfast every day. We loved her. The center of the riad and its terrace were beautiful, but the rooms were a letdown. The room we’d booked over a month ahead had been given to a larger group, so we spent two nights in a different room and moved to our booked room only for the last night. The beds and shared areas were fairly clean, but the showers were questionable and felt more like a hostel than a private room. In the second room they moved us to, there was even an old pair of crocs in the shower. For what we got, I don’t think the price was worth it compared with the other riads we stayed at. They offered excursions that might have made the price worthwhile for the convenience, but we were on the last leg of our trip, so that didn’t help much.

Our family booking was accepted two months before the trip, and they took our payment, then cancelled a week before our vacation with no explanation. We were left with nowhere to stay. When we called the Riad, a grumpy man mumbled something and hung up. It was a terrible customer service experience and left us stranded during our holiday. Hotels.com came through and booked us at Riad explore, where the place and people were wonderful. I’d avoid Riad Sable Chaud, especially as an international tourist. It was frustrating and disappointing. I’ve attached a picture of the booking they cancelled, and our family will be contacting Google about this and submitting individual reviews. They should own their actions instead of coming here to defend their mistakes.

They cancelled our booking at the last minute without explaining why, leaving us stranded for our holiday. We’d booked months in advance, and they had accepted and processed our payment. It was a tourist’s worst nightmare. I’d stay away from this place.
