Anna, the manager, was very hospitable, and she laid out a lovely breakfast every morning. Still, there are several things to think about if you’re considering this or another riad. The furniture was dated and falling apart. There weren’t many bathroom outlets for hair dryers or other equipment. There was no safe or door lock in the rooms, so we had to trust that our valuables would be left alone. Room service wasn’t done daily: our towels stayed wet, and the bedsheets looked dirty and reused. The bathroom needs a lot of work. The hotel is in a dodgy alley, and coming back late felt uncomfortable with lots of young people hanging around. They offer excursions at a markup, so compare with other agents. We had a good experience overall, but check with your booking agent for extra fees. We were surprised by a large bill.

Anna was the best part of our stay. With her bright, energetic smile, she seemed to handle everything, from welcoming guests to managing and cooking. She was so helpful, explaining products and prices in Marrakech, places to visit, and the local culture. The hotel is well located, within walking distance of the Medina and very close to coffe Clock, with its live music and terrace. I loved the interior, the sunny terrace, and the breakfast, which changed each day and was very nice. My room was clean and comfortable. One of my best experiences, and I definitely recommend it.

We arrived to check in, and the cleaning lady put us on the phone with someone I assume was the manager. First she said our reservation had been cancelled. I asked when, since we’d had no email or phone call, and she hadn’t contacted us. Then she asked our name and claimed she’d never received the reservation. When I said we’d booked months earlier, she changed the story to a maintenance problem and said my room wasn’t available. She told us to take our luggage and leave the riad, with no solution offered. She was a liar, rude, and unprofessional, with no customer service at all. If you’re going to overbook me or cancel my reservation, at least get your story straight.
