The Central House Marrakech Medina - Hostel

I was traveling solo, so I chose the affordable four-bed, hostel-style room, and it was the nicest hostel I've stayed in. The private accommodation is available too. The staff were wonderful, the food terrific, and the breakfast costs extra but is well worth it. My room was clean, quiet, and warm during my December stay. There are lots of little corners to sit and journal, catch up with people back home, or post about your trip. Many sights are within a 15-minute walk. The sounds of the Medina stay outside, except for the call to prayer that drifts onto the rooftop terrace.

The staff were kind and friendly, but the room had a strong damp smell and the air quality was really bad. We had to leave the AC running all night, which made it quite cold. The breakfast space was small and cold too. I would have preferred something fresher and more local, and serving it on the rooftop would have been much nicer.

The rooftop is lovely, with stunning Medina views and sunsets, and there’s a ground-floor food and drinks bar serving a decent breakfast. Wi-Fi worked well throughout, and there’s even fully digital luggage storage. Rooms all have en-suite bathrooms and comfortable beds, with amenities like a sofa couch on every floor. The whole place is sparkling clean and beautifully renovated, and the design is a joy to look at, a Moroccan architecture masterpiece. The facilities are amazing, the staff very friendly, and the location superb. Excellent, honestly as good as it gets.

The rooms were good and clean, but the location was my only problem. You do get used to it after a while. The staff really saved my stay. Every person at the front desk was outstanding and supported me through everything. Their smiles and good energy felt like medicine!
