The fruit tagine was a lovely surprise, stewed spiced fruit with date ice cream. We’d been searching for somewhere to eat for ages, but everything seemed closed for Ramadan. This place looked shut too, so we knocked and asked if lunch was possible. The owner and his wife were so warm and welcoming. Since we’re vegetarian, they made us a fresh salad with orange and apple, homemade bread, and a really good roasted vegetable omelette. Thanks for the kind welcome and delicious food!

I’d messaged ahead on WhatsApp, and even though I wasn’t staying at the hotel, they welcomed me in for dinner. I was travelling solo in the area, where there aren’t many dinner options. It was a Monday and I was the only guest, but they served me three delicious courses. Such a happy surprise.

The food was excellent, the rooms were good, and the hospitality was warm. Patrice and his family made me feel at home as soon as I arrived at their auberge.

We had car trouble, and this family couldn’t have done more to help us. Their personal touches made us feel welcome in their home and hometown, and their hospitality was top tier. It was such a heartwarming, refreshing reminder of humanity.
