Ali, the manager, was thoughtful and really nice, but my experience with the German owner was awful. I speak French and heard him shouting at Ali and another woman working in the kitchen while they were making dinner. He also berated our Moroccan guides. I truly believe he may have some kind of anti-Moroccan racism, which seemed so odd. The property itself is amazing, a beautiful labyrinth with a lovely pool, and the location is great. I gave the service two stars because Ali was so kind when the German owner wasn't around.

The grounds are amazing, but the owner ruined our stay. On arrival, the German owner yelled at our group for booking online, followed us around the property, then literally screamed when someone in our party had an open beer that hadn't been bought from him.

The facility was incredible and the hotel staff were excellent, but the German gentleman who said he was the owner was probably the rudest person I've dealt with in over 30 years of travel. We were nine people, around 35 to 65, all well travelled, and he treated us like misbehaving children after finding us on a veranda with a couple of beers. Even after we explained we hadn't known about his rule, he kept berating us, then turned on two men sitting at a nearby table. I'd have rated the place a six if I could, but that interaction earned it the lowest possible score. I'll tell anyone thinking of visiting Morocco to avoid this kasbah like the plague.

The staff were really friendly, and the food and service were excellent. Hartmut, the owner, is a great man with travel experience from all over the world. It's easy to spend a few days here.
