Riad Anyssa

The host was warm and friendly, and the location works well for exploring Marrakech. But it was very hard to get proper rest here. Voices travel through the building and kept waking us, the lights stayed on overnight, and the sheer curtains did little to block them. We ended up covering our eyes with T-shirts. There’s no window in the room for fresh air, the AC is loud, and the synthetic sheets felt hot. We slept only a few hours, and other guests at breakfast said they’d had the same problem. Fine as a base for the day, but not a quiet place to recharge.

The staff made our six-day stay at Riad Anyssa especially pleasant. Yassine and another staff member were lovely throughout, and everyone was accommodating and quick to help: they fixed our cold sink tap promptly and brought extra pillows when we asked. They also recommended a wonderful Hammam, and kindly let us keep our room until 5pm on checkout day, which we really appreciated. We enjoyed the traditional Moroccan breakfast every day, and often had dinner there too because the menu was good. The rooftop is thoughtfully designed and was a nice place to spend time. The riad is on a quiet street, about 20 minutes from the main attractions, which felt like a good escape from the chaos. Our ground-floor room had only a small door opening onto the main hall, so noise wasn’t an issue for us, and there were blackout curtains. The mattress was sturdy, the bathroom was big, and the place was very clean. Towels were changed daily, which was helpful since the room had no windows or wall hooks and towels might otherwise have stayed damp. One morning we did find a cockroach in the bathroom. We killed it and didn’t see any more. More wardrobe hangers and maybe a chest of drawers would be useful. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The location was amazing, and the place was lovely and clean. Breakfast was simple but really good. The staff answered every question and took care of any request. I recommend staying here.

We arrived at 2 a.m. and Ali welcomed us with traditional tea. He was around and ready to help with anything throughout our stay. The riad is clean and peaceful, tucked into a quiet part of the medina, yet close to the main sights. It felt like a little oasis in Marrakech. They arranged airport pickup and the return transfer for us. It cost €20 and could be booked at any time, which was very convenient. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available too, and the food was delicious. We stayed at Riad Anyssa in May 2025 and had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!
