La Bergerie

We took a weekend break from Marrakesh and were glad we chose this place. The calm atmosphere, food, hospitality, and amazing staff made everything feel just right. I’d highly recommend a visit, whether you’re looking to get away from the heat of Marrkaesh or simply see another side of Morocco. We’ll definitely come back.

The shower wasn’t working, which fits the place’s rustic feel, but otherwise it’s a lovely spot. It sits in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains and has good, flavorful food with some traditional dishes and a European influence. The menu is limited.

The biggest issue was the room maintenance. We were a group of bikers, and hot water seemed to be available only for the first guest. After that there was either no hot water or just brief drops of it, even after waiting. The toilets and showers were in poor condition. The rooms were big and had little gardens, and the gardens around the facility were nice too. There are two very nice pools, but the water was freezing. Breakfast was very nice, while dinner was below average.

We stayed with a group in this small complex set well off the road, and ate outside at a long table. Our triple room had good air conditioning, and the pool was nice, deep, and cool. There’s no TV in the room, but there’s a big screen in the bar. Breakfast was good for Morocco, with bread, nice honey, and olive oil. Dinner was a flavorful tagine. Drinks were a little pricey, though there was a decent selection. It’s a quiet location, and the shower could use some maintenance.
