Riad Dar Karima

The staff spoke a little English, while our Arabic and French were even more limited, but we managed with very few communication problems. They pointed us toward nearby sights and restaurants when we arrived, then walked us to the street and hailed two cabs so we wouldn't be overcharged. The riad is inside the Medina, just steps from a main shopping and walking street where we got Moroccan "tacos" and other snacks. Other places were walkable or a short cab ride away. If you pack light, the train station is a 15 minute walk, which might be quicker than waiting for a taxi and getting through traffic. There are no elevators. Our family of four had such a good time at Riad Dar Karima that I regretted booking only one night. It was the cleanest Riad of the ones we stayed in during our 17 days in Morocco. The colorful, bright courtyard has an optional cover for rainy days, and the rooms were comfortable and well designed. The rooftop terrace doesn't have a great view, but it was a nice place to sit in the sun and play family games for a few hours. I'd absolutely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.

Siham and the rest of the staff were amazing, kind, thoughtful, and very understanding. The room was spacious, with lovely classical character, and check-in and check-out were easy and comfortable. The location is excellent, close to the attractions you need to see in Rabat. The WiFi wasn't strong enough if you need a reliable connection, but I'd still highly recommend the place.

This recently renovated old property is tucked behind a small door, but there's surprisingly lots of space inside. It's well maintained, with nice staff, and breakfast is delicious and served at whatever time you prefer. Riad Dar Karima sits in the heart of the old town Market. Walk north for five minutes to reach the sea, or head south for 20 minutes to the nearest train station. A good fit if you like staying in an old town style residence.

Two women gave us a very warm welcome, and the location is convenient and good. But the quality for the price is poor. Breakfast isn't included, and you might only notice that once you arrive because it's tucked away in the text. There was just one lamp for the double bed, and it didn't work. We also got only one big towel, and there was an unpleasant smell and noise from other rooms.
