They greeted us warmly and were very polite. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, with AC if you get hot. Breakfast tasted good, and it was an inexpensive, enjoyable stay. I definitely recommend this place if you want to experience everyday life in the Medina.

The hotel is spotless, looks just like the photos, and is within easy walking distance of lots of sights. We were welcomed with tea and cookies, and the staff were lovely; breakfast was delicious too. Getting there takes some planning. It’s deep in the Medina, where the surrounding lanes are pedestrian only, and Google Maps wasn’t accurate for us, so arriving by taxi could be tricky. You’ll also hear the nearby mosques’ calls to prayer loudly, including one at 4:30 am during our stay. There are many stairs, so it won’t work for wheelchairs or strollers. In our room, the shower had no curtain or divider, leaving the whole bathroom wet. There was no air conditioning, though the couple of fans worked well for our May visit.

Riad Louane was the standout of our three-night stay in Morocco. The rooms were comfortable and recently renovated, and everyone on staff was warm, welcoming, and professional. It’s right in the middle of the Medina, too. We left feeling this was the best riad of our trip.

The people who work here were every bit as lovely as the architecture and interior. I had my best stay in Morocco here and would happily come back. The terrace views are magnificent, too.
