Riad Majorelle

A gorgeous place, and the service was wonderful. Our shower attachment didn’t work, so we had to use it by hand. It’s in the central market, about a 15-minute walk from the Kasbah, and there’s a bit of a walk from the road to reach it.

Breakfast was excellent, with fruit, fresh orange juice, honey, water, cheese, bread, homemade items, and several protein choices. The manager and staff were friendly and respectful. They brought me a prayer mat when I asked, and cleaned the room each day while we were out. Our upstairs room was spacious, well kept, and clean, as was the bathroom. It had a bidet, working AC, and a hairdryer. The location made it easy to walk to taxis, the electric street bus, the ocean, and local souks. A couple of things could be better: there’s no view from the terrace, the WiFi sometimes drops or slows down, and the hot water is difficult to adjust because it gets too hot.

The women at the Riad looked after us so kindly, and breakfast was great. We found it fairly priced for a fun experience, close to shops and restaurants and about a ten-minute walk from the ocean. If you’re there for several nights, I’d have dinner at the Riad one evening. I booked and paid online, but make sure to bring extra cash for taxes.

The bedrooms are on the small side, but pleasant, and the compact ensuite works fine. The AC kept our room comfortable through the night, and breakfast was good. The riad is well placed in the old medina.
