Riad Palais D'OR

The breakfast made by the lovely women there really brightened our day. We also felt right at home thanks to a kind, friendly, professional host. We'd love to return next time.

We booked two nights through booking.com, but ended up leaving after the first. It was about 35 degrees F that winter night, and with the windows open, the room was freezing by morning. The shower was another letdown: its hose had been pulled out, so water came out like a garden hose. Housekeeping came daily, which made us feel they'd chosen not to fix it, even though the listing said there was a bathroom with a shower. We knew the riad was booked, and leaving was our only option. We haven't tried for a refund yet. If you need warmth and a working shower, stay somewhere else.

Our previously booked Riad was full, so the staff kindly moved us here. They were lovely and accommodating, and I think we ended up with the better place. We stayed in October and loved this quaint Riad. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean, and the water pressure was good, though the temperature takes patience. Thanks to Yussuf and Aissan for translating, since our French isn't great even though we're from Canada.

A decent budget choice, with a nice looking riad in a handy location. Cleanliness could use a lot of work, and the staff were helpful but somewhat dry. Noise was my main issue: they kept chatting and laughing past midnight, and with every room facing the courtyard and doors that don't block much sound, it carried everywhere. I'd also temper the breakfast praise in other reviews. It was the same standard breakfast you find all over.
