Le Chant des Oliviers Marrakesh

Two staff members worked flat out, but management was nowhere to be seen. The hotel felt deserted, like nobody had stayed there in ages, and there was dust all the way from reception to the rooms. Our room was dusty and smelly, with cobwebs. The toilet had mould and was unusable, its flush didn’t work, and in the morning I couldn’t even brush my teeth because of the sink. Worst hotel ever, not worth a single star.

The staff are what make this place special. They’re warm, attentive, and went out of their way to make our stay memorable, with a personal welcome that made us feel at home. The peaceful setting just outside Marrakech is lovely too, with olive trees and beautiful gardens where you can get away from the city noise and reconnect with nature. I found the service and calm atmosphere deeply relaxing. Highly recommended if you’re looking for tranquility and a real connection with Morocco’s beauty. I can’t wait to return!🤍

The hardworking staff are what made this a good holiday for me. Abdul was magnificent at sorting things out, especially taxi problems, and was a real help to the rest of the team. The staff work long hours for little pay, yet were always smiling. My suggestions for guests: put the food menu, house rules and itinerary in the rooms, share the hotel address and directions, and improve the intercom or doorbell so people aren’t left waiting outside the gate. The riad itself is beautiful and gave us a genuine taste of Moroccan culture. We loved our room, though you should expect to take plenty of taxis to see the Medina and markets. Excursions can be reasonably priced if you haggle, and I recommend the mud buggy rides through the red sand landscapes. Try the tagine, of course. December was sunny and hot by midday, but it got chilly in the early evening, so bring a hoodie.

The pool was amazing, and everything worked perfectly. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the staff were always ready to help with whatever we needed. We’re definitely planning to come back!
