The welcome could be better organized. Nobody explained how the place worked, what activities were available in the desert, or the schedule, so we felt a bit lost when we arrived. Still, it’s well worth a stopover. There are nine air-conditioned tents with verandas facing the canyon, and the room was clean. I found the soft mattress uncomfortable. The bathroom is inside, but has no window or fan, and hot water in the shower wasn’t always available. The pool is beautifully placed across the canyon, with plenty of comfortable sunbeds and very clean water, though it was freezing, maybe 16 or 17 degrees. Dinner was good and came with a very nice musical show. There’s no choice of dishes, and breakfast is the same. Given that this is the Agafay desert, they’ve overcome a lot of obstacles, and the place has room to expand.

The food was delicious, and Badr and the chef looked after us with what they had. The staff were amazing and clearly doing their best. The views were just as good as the service, both five out of five for me. The accommodation was a shock. The place is extremely rundown and seems to have had no maintenance. Paint was peeling off the bathroom walls, the glass door was almost falling apart, and cleanliness was at its worst. It needs to close for renovations. The room, cleanliness, and maintenance all get one out of five. Communication was also one out of five. The pool photos other reviewers posted are tempting, but the water was ice cold. There was supposedly a heating system, but it was faulty throughout our stay. If you still want to book, check that it’s working first. Read the reviews before deciding. I’m adding photos to show how disappointed we were.

The view really is breathtaking, and it’s a remarkable thing to have built a camp in the middle of nowhere. We even enjoyed dipping into the swimming pool, despite how extremely cold and dirty it was. That said, almost everything else felt cheap and neglected. Our Agafay desert tent was dirty and in very bad shape, not somewhere you’d want to walk barefoot. The bathroom sliding door wouldn’t close, the toilet wasn’t fixed in place, the sink was clogged, and its cabinet came loose and fell onto my feet. I wasn’t sure the sheets had been cleaned, given the smell and the hair we found. The wifi and AC didn’t work, even though they were advertised. There was no lunch option or drink menu, and they charged us at the end without telling us what a drink would cost. We didn’t feel there was any service. We compared several similar camps and thought this was a good deal, but we’d have paid more for somewhere nicer. We wouldn’t recommend it.

The food was phenomenal, with huge portions, a friendly cook, and service that felt thoughtful and genuinely lovely. Each tent has a full bathroom and a tub, and the showers were properly hot. The pool looks like an Instagrammer’s dream, with an infinity edge over a unique view of the snowcapped mountains. There are palm trees, poolside bar service, and sunsets to remember. The location is fantastic, with a beautiful canyon and the Atlas mountains in the distance. It feels like a quiet little oasis, a bit of heaven. A lovely French gentleman runs the camp and takes great care to make your stay enjoyable. Great value for money, and the absolute highlight of our trip. I can’t say enough good things. Go there!

The rooms were spacious and clean, the food was good, and the views were astonishing. Service was friendly and lovely too. Hossein is an amazing guy, and I hope to see him again someday. Thanks for everything. No complaints at all.
