Hyatt Regency Taghazout

Mr. Khalil at reception was so helpful when I needed to buy train tickets and sort out a problem getting them. He even seemed to be late for his trip home while helping me. I travel a lot, and it’s rare to meet an employee like him. I hope he gets a bonus and promotion, and I wish him all the best in his career. The hotel grounds are lovely and right beside the ocean, and breakfast had a delicious range of dishes. The only downside was that my shower wasn’t working properly, so I had to change rooms in the middle of the night. Still, his support quickly made me forget that problem.

The service was nowhere near five-star, more like a three-star standard, and management needs to improve staff training and organization. There were lots of employees, but it often seemed no one knew what their job was. Food took an extremely long time to arrive, with several staff gathered around one table while others were left unattended. Check-in offered almost no guidance, and we got no clear details about breakfast hours or which restaurants were available. We were told reservations weren’t needed, then found out at the restaurants that they were absolutely required. The resort itself is beautiful and well designed, with modern architecture and a lovely green, well-kept feel. Its coastal setting is excellent, the beachfront promenade is great for walking or jogging with ocean views, and guests have access to a private beach. The fitness facilities are high quality, and the place seems especially suited to families with children.

We picked this as a family trip because it seemed like the most modern and safe option nearby, and had a brilliant stay in an excellent room. The breakfast buffet offered plenty of choice, from sweet treats to fresh eggs. There was direct beach access and security all around. Prices for food and drinks were my main gripe: they were like European prices, but the quality didn’t match. Staff were friendly, though the pool team could have been a bit more helpful. On our first day, we couldn’t find a sunbed and the poolside staff didn’t seem bothered when we asked. There’s a lot of construction in the area, but I can’t wait to return in the future.

The team were especially accommodating and helpful with anything we needed. My husband is vegan, and they went above and beyond to meet his dietary needs. The food and service were wonderful, and the whole crew was great. Everything was 10/10 for me, possibly my favourite hotel stay in Morocco. I’d recommend it to families, couples, or anyone looking for a safe, clean and highly luxurious hotel in Taghazout.
