Sahara Garden

We felt at home despite being far from home, thanks to Ibrahim and his team. It was easy to get to Sahara garden without a car: the bus dropped us at a meeting point, and a driver picked us up there and brought us back too. Thank you, Youssef! We liked it so much at first sight that we extended our stay to five days. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and it felt like there were no problems in the Sahara. The Moroccan food at breakfast and dinner was delicious. After dinner, talented musicians played, and when the drums started, it made you want to dance. The dunes begin right beside the camp, with quads and camel rides available. We loved walking in the dunes under the full moon, taking in the view and quiet, a lovely place to recharge. Ibrahim, our lovely host, also helped arrange a trip to Rissani market and get us the best Berber Pizza. I’d recommend both. We’ll be back, inshallah.

The location is unusual, with Saharan dunes right outside the front door, and the camp offers very decent lodging for such a remote spot. We enjoyed the camel ride to the dunes, watching sunset, and riding back to camp. The next morning we got up early to see the sunrise from the dunes. We stayed one night during our Intrepid tour. Dinner was good, and hotel workers gave us an impromptu performance of local music.

The family Hotel is always improving, and I’d definitely come back to see what’s new. Abrahim was a very good host, and Omar paid attention to the breakfast details and his other duties. All the staff were friendly and made us feel at home away from home. This family Hotel in the Sahara Desert seems unstoppable.

We had the place to ourselves while camping, which was such a treat. It was lovely, right beside the dunes, and great for stargazing away from too many tourists. Ibrahim, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. The shared toilets and showers were good.
