Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech

The gym is well equipped, and the tennis and padel facilities were a real highlight for us. We had a wonderful stay at Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech, with excellent food throughout. Portions were generous and the dishes well presented, though the rich, indulgent style started to feel heavy after a week on half board. Including lighter choices from the Asian fusion bar menu in that plan would add some welcome variety. We loved the peaceful setting, away from central Marrakech but close enough to visit the Medina and enjoy its energy. The hotel is beautiful and calm, and the rooms, especially the family suites, are spacious, elegant and very comfortable. The bar is stunning and has a lovely atmosphere and great drinks menu. Our one small quibble was that the same cocktail could taste quite different on different nights. A little more consistency would make the experience even better. At lunch, we also found the restaurant menu a bit hard to navigate, and would have liked more casual, lighter options for a simple daytime meal. We'd absolutely return. A few small refinements could make a very good hotel even better.

The spa was a five-star experience, especially the hammam treatment with Hafhida. Saloua at reception kindly coordinated all our bookings around the kids' schedules, and made it work for my husband and me. Our first pottery workshop with two young children was a hit. Amine, our master, looked after the whole group and made sure both the kids and parents had a great time. The soundtrack was good too! The food at every restaurant was fantastic, and the pool was warm enough for a sunny winter break. A brilliant family getaway. I can't wait to come back.

The Atlas Mountains made an amazing backdrop wherever we went, and the hotel itself was beautiful. Our room was spacious, and the food at all the restaurants was tremendous. I'll definitely be back. The staff really made the weekend. Maha chatted with us about even the smallest things and became such a positive ambassador for the hotel. The buggy drivers were always friendly and welcoming, even for the shortest trip from the lobby to our room. And a special mention to Karim and the bar staff, who were so hospitable throughout our four-day trip. Karim was one of the best bartenders I've come across, in a hotel or anywhere else. His cocktails were great, and he made us so comfortable that we often didn't feel like going to other bars.

I've stayed with Fairmont in Canada, but the Fairmont Royal Palms at Marrakech was a step above. The architecture beside the golf course is lovely, though the snow-covered Atlas Mountains were what really took my breath away. My wife and I were celebrating a special occasion, and the personal attention made the visit memorable. The front desk, housekeeping, room service, gym and spa staff all gave us especially thoughtful service, with real care for the details. The experience has made me want to return to this same property with my daughter next time.
