El Minzah Hotel

We spent several summer weeks at El Minzah Hotel Tangier and had a consistently good stay. Farida from housekeeping kept our room immaculate, was kind and attentive, and made sure my family and I had what we needed. Her manager, the housekeeping governor, often checked in too. The front desk handled our arrival professionally and efficiently, and meals at several of the hotel's restaurants came with pleasant service. Being between the Medina and the newer city made it easy to reach many sights on foot, and we felt very safe in the area. The elevator did go out of service temporarily a few times. Since our room was on the third floor, it wasn't a major problem. We found the hotel comfortable and well managed, and I'd confidently recommend it.

The place has lovely old-fashioned charm, with beautiful architecture and a real sense of history. Dinner was a treat, the staff were welcoming, and the food was high quality, especially the local dishes. It costs a bit more, but felt worth it for a special evening.

I really enjoyed my January 2026 stay at this lovely hotel in the center of Tanger. My room was clean and warm, and breakfast was delicious. The location worked really well too. Abdul Ali at reception was especially helpful. I hope I've got his name right. He answered my questions about what to see and where to go in Tanger, showed me the rooms, and shared a little about the hotel's history. He was so kind that I felt like the most valued guest there. With staff like Mr Abdul Ali, travelers can feel at ease even hundreds of kilometers from home.

El Minzah is right in the middle of everything, with taxis available anytime and the port close by for ferry travelers. There's a short uphill stretch, but it didn't bother us. We found it easy to return to the hotel quickly when needed, which mattered to us as people who are careful about hygiene. The traditional look carries through to the staff uniforms, and the team were professional, courteous, helpful, and mostly able to speak English. Both restaurants and the bar were high standard, and the food was delicious. It was pricey, but the reassuring sense of quality and safety felt like cheap insurance for our western tummies. Staying there was a joy, and I'd highly recommend it. 🤗
