Free Zone Hotel

The staff were good to deal with, except for the woman working in the morning at what I mean as 13:00. The airport was only 10 minutes from the hotel, but she quoted 20 euros. That felt like a scam, and I don’t think Moroccans would pay that price. I don’t recommend the place at all. They’ll scam you. I’m never coming back.

The location works well if you’re heading out from the airport. Beyond that, the reality didn’t match the booking site descriptions or photos. It was very dirty, with basic furniture and unfinished walls, and the hotel was very expensive for what you get. Hot water kept cutting out, water leaked from above while I was in the WC, and breakfast was a mess. Some people got extra things while others got nothing, because it was poorly organized.

Even after two years away from Morocco, I still think about this when I talk with friends about the trip. We were kindly picked up from the airport road and driven to another hotel, but it was full. We walked over here to see if there was room and got lucky on the second try. On the day I checked out, I found out the driver was actually the head of the hotel. I recommend this place because they were kind to us.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I don’t want someone else wasting money here. I booked at the last minute in a hurry, and after one night I’d rather sleep outside. The room’s TV and AC were broken, the fridge leaked, the smoke detector didn’t work, and the toilet shower was broken. The door was hard to lock and only secured with three bolts. The toilet was filthy, with hair and mold everywhere. The reception was very dirty and smelled terrible. They charged a very high exchange rate and blamed the booking website, even though the market rate was 20% lower. The website said there was private parking, but there wasn’t, so we had to park on the street. Nobody helped with our luggage or showed us to the room. We were handed towels at reception, which seemed strange when there were none in the room.
