Our ferry was delayed, so we tried to book a room late in the evening and got there just before midnight. All the single rooms were taken, but the friendly staff found us beds in a double apartment. They accidentally charged us the single apartment price when we arrived, then contacted us straight away the next morning and refunded the extra. Very fair.

The apartment is spacious and the location is amazing, with the main attractions nearby. But I didn’t like it much. There’s no drain in the toilet floor, so water runs out into the passageway. The utensils are old and you don’t want to touch them, and there’s an issue with the door handles.

Scam alert: when we arrived, the front desk told us to cancel our booking with booking.com, saying they’d waive the fee and upgrade our room. They did neither. We paid cash up front, and now we have to explain the cancelled booking to the platform so we aren’t charged the fee they said they’d waive. The apartment itself also lacked amenities. Don’t book.

We rented an elegant, clean two-bedroom apartment with everything we needed, including an automatic washing machine and microwave. The place is beautiful, well serviced and a very pleasant place to live in. It’s close to spots for walking around the city, and the price is very reasonable. A truly successful experience in every way.
