Riad El Reducto

The value was poor, and the whole visit left me frustrated. Since my last visit in January, prices have gone up by more than 50%, while the food's taste and presentation have both fallen below what I expected for what they now charge. The wait was also far too long, even though the restaurant was almost empty. Then the bill had another surprise: they added 10% TVA on top of the menu prices. In Morocco, prices are supposed to include all taxes, so this felt misleading and dishonest. I won't be back and can't recommend the place.

We weren't staying at the hotel, just came for dinner. The food was tasty and fairly priced, and the Moroccan wine was both cheap and delicious. The staff were kind and walked us up to the rooftop terrace, where there were plenty of tables to choose from. They also had international football on TV.

The food was actually good, which made the way we were welcomed a shame. We came for lunch, and the older waiter spoke rudely and disrespectfully, leaving us uncomfortable. We also felt we might have been treated differently because we aren't foreigners. More respectful customer service would make a real difference.

This is only about the restaurant at the riad. We didn't stay overnight. The Kentucky fish was tasty and a generous portion, but the next dish wasn't what I'd ordered. I asked for lamb and got beef, which I don't eat. When I told our server, Rachisd, he said it was his fault but didn't offer to put things right or apologize in any other way. The check also didn't match the menu. I was already upset about the beef, so I asked why, and the server said VAT gets added afterward. It's the first time I've seen that practice at a restaurant in Morocco.
