The rooftop is a real highlight, with huge views for sunrise, sunset, or watching the moon and stars. It’s decorated nicely too, as in the first two photos. And breakfast is a pleasure! Once the gate opened, we found a lovely terrace and those amazing views. From the road, the approach had me wondering what we’d gotten into, with all the sand and no views, but they picked a great spot in the landscape. Inside, the Maroccan feel is done tastefully, and the staff are warm and professional. They’re attentive without getting in your way, and a painted map of the wider area helped them explain activities and sights. Ouarzazate itself feels impressively modern and newly built, with money from the Studio's and solar power stations visible almost everywhere. Restaurant Phoenix is highly recommended for a great dinner and top of the bill Italian food. The only downside was having to leave. If I’m in Ouarzazate again, I’ll stay here.

We had a lovely room overlooking the palm grove, and the attentive, friendly staff made the stay easy. There’s parking, and the garden gives guests a chance to walk through the palm grove, which was lovely. Breakfast was very good by Moroccan standards. Strong winds can make some noise because the doors don’t seal completely. A great option near Ouarzazate.

Younes was such a genuinely warm and attentive host that we felt completely looked after. The garden belonging to the Riad was a lovely place to visit in the evening, and made the stay even more special. We chose it before a desert tour because the photos looked beautiful and its slightly off-center location suited us. Younes and his two colleagues gave us a warm welcome. Inside, it felt like an oasis, cozy and tastefully decorated just like the pictures, with wonderful oriental hospitality. I’d absolutely come back. For anyone staying in Ouarzazate, it’s an easy 100% recommendation, with service and hospitality that surpass many high-end hotels.

Of all the places we booked in Morocco, Riad Chay was the best. The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff go the extra mile to make the stay feel special. No faults at all, just amazing kindness and hospitality.
