Riad Tazawa

Birdsong was about all we could hear at this green oasis, with trees and fields all around. The Riad sits in a beautiful area, and it really feels far removed from everything. The location is outstanding and has a traditional feel. We also ate well: the food was tasty and generous, and breakfast was very good.

After seven days in Morocco, this was the best breakfast I’d had, with good coffee too. The location is excellent, and dinner was very good.

Comfortable beds, clean toilets, and hot running water made the stay easy, and there’s plenty of room to sit outside in the courtyard or small garden and enjoy the natural surroundings. Riad Tazawa is in the Roses Valley, just a short drive from the main road, behind a small village, with the Atlas Mountains in view. It’s set in the middle of nature, and the atmosphere is lovely. I’m fussy about food and look for fresh, tasty meals, especially in Morocco. Breakfast and dinner here were both fresh and hot, and I really enjoyed them. The service was welcoming and friendly too. What stays with me just as much as the Riad, the food, and the ambience is the family who run it. They’re generous and warm, treat you like family rather than a client, and greet you with big smiles. Hassan greeted us with local pastries and delicious meant tea in a lovely, well-kept garden. He was such a kind and gentle host, and the room was clean. In the morning, the breakfast he cooked was tasty and satisfying. The Riad is surrounded by unspoiled Moroccan nature, and we felt calm and at peace as soon as we arrived. We had a really positive stay and enjoyed everything. This is a little hidden gem in the middle of nowhere, especially if, like us, you’re heading to the nearby desert next. It’s a lovely place to recharge body and soul. 💫
