Hotel Port Palace

The service was the weak point for us. At check-in the front desk ladies handed over the key without a smile or much guidance, and when we asked about dinner, staff told us quite rudely that the restaurant wasn’t open yet. We also asked the desk to arrange a takeaway breakfast bag because our plane left before breakfast hours. They said they’d try to do something, but there was nothing ready that morning and nobody brought it up. They may simply have forgotten. The Port Palace itself is beautiful, with a lovely room and a perfect spot in the center of Monaco at Port Hercules. A smile would have gone a long way.

The room was spacious, luxurious, and high quality, with a fantastic view. We slept really well since no outside noise reached us. The staff were warm and friendly, and the harbour location made it easy to walk to everything else. Wish we’d had more time to stay.

For Monaco, I thought the hotel was very good value. Its spot by the port is especially convenient during the Christmas season, with the market right across from the hotel. Strongly recommend it.

The service and comfort were just as memorable as the marina view. From the valet to reception, everyone was extremely polite. The valet parking was seamless, the downstairs staff brought the car whenever we needed it, and nobody made us feel expected to tip. It costs €50, but the car was safe and always ready. We even got a free room upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. Our first-floor suite was stunning, cleaner than clean and somehow more beautiful than our home, with yachts so close outside the window it felt like we could reach them. The hotel is right across a luxury marina with just a small street between, so the view is breathtaking. Try the hotel restaurant, though I’ll leave a separate review for that, and don’t miss the fun private route from the 6th floor straight to the famous casino path.
