Nothing stood out, and some of the furniture was dirty.

A nice place to stay, with all the essentials.

The host was ready to help with any questions, and the location was good. We didn't cook, so the small selection of dishes was enough for us. The elevator shaft runs along the apartment wall, and we could hear everyone leaving. The appliances and furniture are old, though sturdy.

The central location and a responsive host were definite pluses. He stayed in touch, met us, helped with our bags, arranged a crib, and brought a replacement kettle the next day when ours broke. The apartment has the basics, including a washing machine, stove, dishes, iron, refrigerator, microwave, and hot water. There’s also a three-part security system in the building, and the price is a little lower than other places. Still, the 9.2 rating on Booking.com didn’t match our stay at all. Maybe other apartments are different and we were unlucky, but for us it felt closer to a 5.9, and we’ve never been this disappointed before. The room was barely 25 square meters and felt like a small apartment. There were no windows or proper ventilation, so the only way to get air was to open the balcony door, which leads to the fire escape. Leaving it open while going out or sleeping felt like leaving the door open, and the room was stuffy. The furniture was battered. Drawer handles came off in our hands, the bed creaked, and the mattress sagged. The tiny iron had a short 70 cm cord and tape in three places. There was no proper clothes dryer, and after two days our clothes were still damp. I ended up using that little iron to try to finish drying them before wearing them. The toilet seat was just sitting on top, not fixed in place. The door and window handles felt sticky, and there was a broken piece of glass behind the refrigerator. For cleanliness, I’d give the room 3 out of 5.
