This stay was a complete NIGHTMARE. We were put in the wrong room, which they called an “upgrade”. It was at the back, had no view, and had two single beds the size of kids' cots. That was just the start. The beds were INFESTED with bed bugs. They kept us awake all night, and we woke with at least 20 bites across our faces and bodies. The agency running the place ignored our messages and pleas to move rooms or check out. We found the apartment owners living there. They said “well, bed bugs happen” and “we don’t have any other room”. The older woman owner was manipulative, switching between praising herself and saying she had no authority and was only responsible for keeping the place clean. That was exactly what she had failed to do. We were forced to spend the second night there because the agency didn't communicate. They set up the couch in another part of the room and brought sheets and pillows from a completely different room. When evening came, bugs appeared everywhere. There were all sizes, from huge ones to tiny ones, and it seemed they'd had plenty of time to multiply there. We spent the night sitting on the floor, trying to avoid bites, looking for another place, and catching bugs in cups to show the owners, who were gaslighting us. As soon as the sun came up, we left this disgusting place and didn't stay for the third night we'd paid for. They wouldn't let us leave in the normal way, despite the unlivable conditions. We also learned that another room had been available the whole time, but they wouldn't move us there for no apparent reason. Don't be fooled by surfaces that look clean. The place is infested, and once night comes, masses of bed bugs emerge. The hot water also ran out after five minutes. That's unacceptable, but compared with the bed bug hazard and the conniving people running the place, it wasn't even the biggest issue. We're still waiting for a refund and have spent so much time going back and forth with them. This shouldn't even be up for discussion. These people are money-hungry and wouldn't apologize as long as they could keep renting out unlivable premises. This terrible part of the trip ruined our holiday. It's a shame for the country's reputation.
