Apartments Menuet

The hosts seemed friendly in their messages while arranging the booking, but they could have warned us about the apartment’s current condition. The apartment itself is nice, though the first impression wasn’t great, and it could have been cleaner. There was dust on the terrace and marks on the white furniture, maybe coffee or chocolate. A quick wipe would have taken care of them. The TV doesn’t work, and we’re still waiting for someone to set it up. We paid a lot for a sea view, but you mostly see the old fairgrounds and the construction sites around it. We regret not giving up the booking, but after traveling with a dog, it is what it is. Ask carefully in advance, and don’t pay until you’ve seen the accommodation. Also, the water in this building isn’t drinkable. At least, that’s what the locals in Budva told us. What a shame.

The apartment is comfortable and in a great spot with a sea view, and I can’t fault the owners’ communication. They were genuinely kind. But for these seriously high prices, the value is poor. The furniture smells musty, and some parts really stink. The backrests were hairy, too, and the dining table was broken when we arrived. The washing machine was awful. It ruined our tracksuit and jacket. That’s not acceptable at these prices. The attached photos show the real condition.

We paid €166 per night for a nine-day booking through Booking.com, but left after just two days because we weren’t happy. The staff were very friendly and let us cancel, but the place is simply outdated. Several construction sites around the building completely spoil the sea view. We only noticed too late that the washing machine was rusty, and it left rust stains on our clothes. At this price, I expect something different.

The room was clean and lovely, with an amazing view, and the location was great. Check-in was easy, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. What more could you want? :)
