Hotel Splendid Conference and Spa Resort

We keep coming back to Splendid, at least two or three times every year. It’s a hotel that feels made for enjoying yourself, and we always feel genuinely welcome. The hospitality, roomy rooms, excellent spa, and amazing breakfast are a big part of it, along with the indoor and outdoor pools. We’re loyal guests every May and winter, even outside the summer season, and plan to keep returning.

The food made me seriously ill: after eating a burger, I spent the whole night vomiting and had to go to hospital. That's unacceptable at any hotel, especially one presenting itself as five-star luxury. The breakfast was poor, and the staff came across as arrogant and unprofessional. The indoor pool water was cold. Strong drafts came in through the windows, making the loungers beside it unusable and sitting there wet extremely uncomfortable. The rooms were in bad shape, with broken items and very uncomfortable beds. Facilities generally felt old, poorly maintained, and often didn't work. For the prices, the quality was outrageously low. This felt like an outdated 2-3 star hotel from the Yugoslav era, falsely advertised as five-star. I'm extremely disappointed and strongly advise everyone to AVOID it.

We spent three nights on the top floor with a really good sea view. The staff were great, valet parking was free and efficient, and having the spa was a welcome extra. The casino felt a little strange. Breakfast was okay, though as a Brit I found the usual options limited. Still, we were in Montenegro. The hotel is brilliant, but its bars and restaurants are a bit pricey by local standards.

We went in the off-season and barely saw anyone, which was a real plus. The rooms were spacious and spotless, and the spa had lots of saunas, sunbeds, and places to relax. Breakfast was fantastic too, with a huge spread of fresh, tasty, high-quality dishes, desserts, and fruit. The only letdown was the spa staff, who seemed unhelpful, almost as if our being there bothered them.
