Stranger Tides Hostel

What people complain about here is the distance, but I actually liked being away from the cruise crowds. The hostel is peaceful and still easy to socialize in, and everything was clean and looked after. The family running it were warm, welcoming hosts. If the walk feels like too much, you can hire a bike from a nearby shop, take an easy bus, or walk about 45 minutes. I’d happily recommend staying here.

The garden was a lovely place to spend time, and the kitchen is large with all the equipment you’d need. Stranger Tides may be the most comfortable hostel I’ve stayed in. The rooms are clean and have air conditioning and secure storage, while the bunks give you a bit of privacy even in a six-bed room. Don’t let the location put you off: blue line buses run to and from Kotor every hour.

Sandra, the owner, was so kind and ready to help. Her advice and assistance made everything feel smooth and peaceful. It’s a great place to enjoy Kotor and meet people. Highly recommend it, and I’ll definitely come back.

We really enjoyed our stay, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hostel is right by the sea, just five metres away, and I liked that it was a bit outside town and quieter. It’s good value, though getting to the centre means a 45-minute walk or a €10 taxi. The host was lovely too. We arrived during a thunderstorm, and she washed and dried our clothes for us. I’d recommend it to anyone staying in Kotor.
