Villa Mariner

A comfortable place for a few days, with great views from the rooms. Alex serves breakfast out in the backyard courtyard, which was a nice touch. Parking is across the street and pretty tight, and the narrow roads can get interesting once traffic picks up. You’ll often hear the big cruise ships sounding their horns as they pass through the bay. There’s also a ferry around the bend, and Kotor is only a few miles away.

The house feels genuinely ancient, full of history, and the view from the windows is breathtaking. It sits right by the sea on the quieter side of the bay, with a comfortable waterfront area, its own loungers, and a terrace. Our host was lovely and very welcoming, shared lots of interesting stories, and provided several extra services for free. Breakfast was varied and really good, too. The air conditioning could be better, though that makes sense given the house’s historic value. The road runs right below the windows, so cars are loud at night if you sleep with them open. We’re sensitive to noise, but heard very little inside the house overnight. Highly recommended.

Alexander made us feel welcome from the start and was always around if we needed anything. He even arranged a boat tour that left right in front of the house, so there was no need to drive into Kotor. He also pointed us to a local SIM card because roaming is so expensive. We loved the old Villa Mariner, with its beautiful family heritage. It’s a very quiet place, and morning sun comes into the bedroom. The view is stunning. We had an incredible stay and hope to return.

We had a big room with air conditioning and a view over the bay. The owner was so friendly and accommodating when COVID delayed our trip three times and we had to keep changing dates. Ask Aleksandar about the history of the area and his home, it was fascinating. There’s a shop just a few doors away, plus restaurants and a bakery within walking distance. By the water, there are loungers and tables on a dock. The roads are tight, but our small rental car handled them fine each time. Can’t fault the place, 10/10.
