Hotel BaMBiS

We ended up on the street at 1am after our hostel wouldn’t accept us, and were worried we’d have to sleep on a bench. Mark took us in with the last room, even though the hotel was supposed to close at midnight. He offered us a drink, chatted with us for an hour, and gave us a discount on the room. The family has run the hotel for 15 years, and you can feel the warmth and kindness throughout the place. Mark also suggested things to do in Podgorica and drove us to the city centre and later to a musical bar on Wednesday night. One of my best travel experiences. Super welcoming family, and I highly recommend staying here.

From the bedroom window, we had a fantastic mountain view, and there’s a seating area out front where you can enjoy a drink while looking at the mountains. The staff were helpful and available, and they regularly changed our bedding. Breakfast was excellent, we always left full and ready for the day. The location suited us well, about a five-minute taxi ride from the city center. At the bus station there, you can catch a couch to places like Budva and Kotor, which we visited.

The owner really helped us out when our car had a problem. He called four or five shops to find the part we needed, then came with us to pick it up, and we even got a discount at the shop. The hotel itself is quiet and cosy, with classic-style decor, and it’s about a six-minute drive from Podgorica city center. Highly recommended.
